Family
A house is an investment, and a home is the sanctuary of a family. But mold in a home destroys your property and puts the health of your family at risk. In worst case scenarios, mold has forced families out of their homes and while giving them permanent health symptoms that will follow them wherever they go. Mold has made homes unable to be occupied or resold, leaving only the option of demolition.

Is There Mold In My Home?
Keep in mind, most mold grows in unseen places like behind walls and under carpets.  If you can see mold, it is likely that you are looking at the tip of the iceberg.  A musty smell is also an indicator of mold growth.  But mold is the result of moisture intrusion into your home.  If your home has experienced a burst pipe, roof leak, or flooding, it's possible that mold has grown.

How Can Mold Affect My Family?
Depending on the type and amount of mold, it may adversely affect the health of your family in different ways.  Newborns and young children are especially susceptible to the allergenic and pathogenic characteristics of mold because their immune systems are underdeveloped.  Lifelong asthma is likely the result of infants who were exposed to mold at an early age.  Mold is also believed to be a component in the cause of Crib Death or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.  The elderly are also vulnerable to mold, as well anyone with a suppressed or compromised immune system.

How Can Mold Damage My House?
In today's real estate market, the presence of mold will cause a house's value to plummet.  Mold is symptom of larger, ongoing moisture problems and structural deterioration.  Mold will grow on almost any surface, often making that material unsalvageable.  The deconstruction and repair costs caused by mold can far overshadow any remediation costs if mold is allowed to grow rampant.

Why Shouldn't I use Chlorine Bleach?
A mixture of chlorine bleach and water is a traditional method of home mold removal that often causes more harm than good.  Bleach is an effective disinfectant on flat, non-porous surfaces like bathtubs and tiles, but on porous surfaces only the water will seep into the material and feed the mold growing inside.  Additionally, exposure to chemicals like bleach can often be more hazardous than the mold itself, leading to lifelong damage to your health.

How Does Guardian Assess My Home for Mold?
Guardian Preservation Service contractors are certified and insured to accurately assess your home for mold.  Each of our contractors undergoes extensive training and ongoing education to keep up with building design trends. We will schedule a time that works around your schedule to come and assess the property.  We are available days, nights, and weekends for your convenience.

How Does Guardian Sample for Mold?
Guardian Preservation Services employs air sampling to determine the types of molds present, the frequency of spores in the air, and the infected areas of the property.  Since airborne mold levels tend to fluctuate, we sample repeatedly in each room of the property.  We also sample the mold outdoors to form a basis of comparison.  After remediation is complete, we resample to validate that the mold has been successfully removed.  Copies of these reports are available for the property owner and will stay with the property.

How Do I Keep Mold From Returning?
Mold is always the result of an abnormal moisture intrusion problem in a building that is caused by wear and tear, natural disaster, or faulty design.  Unless this problem is corrected, mold will continue to regrow after it is removed.  For this reason, finding and rectifying the water intrusion problem is critical.  Any mold remediation company that does not stress this to you is probably hoping to profit from your repeated business.  Since we offer a lifetime guarantee, it is in both of our best interests to see that mold does not return.
